One Month Old

Our little girl is growing so fast! It's hard to believe she's already a month old; she has fit so seamlessly into our lives, it's like she's always been here.

Although she is growing, Evie is still pretty small. A lot of newborn-sized clothes are still too big and her cloth diapers don't fit yet either. She is a happy baby, content unless she wants her diaper changed, has to burp, or is hungry. She loves her baths and often falls asleep the minute I put her in. She likes to watch us talk or sing and seems to hang on every word. And I don't want to jinx anything...but she is a fantastic sleeper. Most nights we get a 4-6 hour stretch. She knows how to make Momma happy.

And even harder to believe, Julian is fast approaching two years old! He seems so big to me ever since Ev came. He is adding new words to his vocabulary every day and cracks us up all the time. His new favorite toy is Mitch's iPod. He likes to look at flashcards on it and knows how to touch it to scroll with his little finger.

Besides technology, his other forte is directions. I swear, he already knows Battle Creek better than I do. (I can still get lost downtown.) If we're driving down East Ave. towards Capital, he knows where Grammy's neighborhood is and starts asking about her a few streets ahead of time. On the way out to the mall, he asks about Poppa since we've visited him at Lowe's a few times. He makes his "Uncle Tyler" noise if we're headed towards the Fowlers' house. He amazes me with his memory!

This is Daddy's first week back to school and we are missing him already. We had so much fun this summer! Luckily, the hours are not bad and we'll still get lots of time with him in the evenings.
